Save Langley Vale’s Green Belt

Langley Bottom

Langley Vale is more than just a place on the map, it is home to many families. The fields and green spaces that form the backdrop of lifelong memories for many people. Now, Fairfax developers are floating a proposal to build 110 houses on our cherished Green Belt at Langley Bottom Farm threatens to change that forever. Our Greenbelt is a living, breathing asset—a rich habitat for wildlife, a vital buffer against urban sprawl, and a sanctuary where families enjoy nature. The land has been carefully farmed for generations, and once it’s built over, its irreplaceable heritage will be lost forever.

While this is for now an initial consultation, this can quickly turn into a full green light for the site. It’s deeply concerning to see this proposal, that would lead to increased traffic, noise, and strain on local services such as schools and transport. The green belt exists to maintain the balance between development and preserving the countryside, and risking its loss would have long-lasting consequences for our community

I urge everyone who cherishes Langley Vale — past, present, and future—to take a stand. Sign the petition to send a clear message to our council: Our Green Belt and our way of life must be protected, ensuring that our village remains a place of natural beauty and strong community spirit.

A vote for this petition is a vote against the developers plan to build on Langley Vale’s Green Belt. Petition started by Matthew Dunn.

How Else Can You Help?

A fundraiser has been created on GoFundMe, £1,335 raised already!

Save Langley Bottom Epsom Say No To 110 Houses

Please help to support our local community and oppose developer greed by generously donating. There is no time to lose with a planning application has now been submitted as expected.

All donations will go into a ring-fenced fund within Woodcote (Epsom) Residents’ Society Bank Account managed by the Society’s Treasurer.

To object directly to the local councillors (I urge you to do so as the council has to log these as part of the official process) please email the Planning Committee and local Ward representatives (just copy and paste), mentioning multiple factors for objection not just the lands status as Greenbelt (although keep this in but this will be under a degree risk of reclassification due to government policy shifts). Please mention important aspects

  • Damage to character
  • Access to natural space
  • Services
